Koostöös Laura Pappa ja Jaak Kaevatsiga. Masayo Ave korraldatud workshop “Design Journalism”, mille käigus tootedisainerid pidid uurima Eesti saunakultuuri. Peale seda pidi valmima ajakirja “INTERNI” erinumber.

Erinumbrit ei tulnud.

Collaboration with Laura Pappa and Jaak Kaevats. We had to research the Estonian bathing culture with product design department during the workshop “Design Journalism”. After that there should have been a special “INTERNI” magazine number, which didn’t happen.

During Mikk Heinsoo’s assigment I got interested in objects that essentially don’t fit together, but still own similiar relationships. I collected random objects, experimented with them and made a booklet out of those relations.

VIDEO.TED.Talk.2008

We had to make a change in 40 hours in Keit Ein’s assigment. In collaboration with Tanel Kärp we wanted to communicate alot of people at once at to inspire them to make a change by themself. With the academic organisation TED we organized a lecture, where theorist Henri Maasing talks about the butterfly effect and how we are responsible for the world that we create.

INSTALLATION.Recreating.the.space.2008

Anu Vahtra and Paulien Barbas workshop dealt with 2D and 3D phenomenon — recreating three-dimensional object in itself and at the same time it’s connected with EKKM (Estonian Contemporary Art Museum). I was interested how would EKKM look like, if you could see it threw up-side-down glasses. I found at that on a certain angle you could see the actual room and the reflected two-dimensional after-image at the same time. This created an optical illusion that creates new rooms for the looker.

Konst & Teknik “A really boring workshop” assigment was to find something interesting from you high school most hated lesson. In collaboration with Kadri Kallaste we searched something interesting from mathematics. Dealing with the golden ratio we had a question: Is there a equation to calculate ones object perfect distance where it looks the best. We generated our own equation for this and created a series of posters where we show the most beautiful distances of different objects.

Collaboration with Sander Lastovets. We where dissapointed that there wasn’t a decent pocket-book witch could explain everyday Estonian grammar in a really simple way.

During Bart de Baets workshop we had to create a New York City travelguide using only the wikipedia link. I wanted to create a pocket-sized book, which is quick and easy to understand. Researching the article I found that NYC compared itself with other US and world cities. Threw this I decided to translate the article into diagrams.

We had to research a color in-depth in a Matthias Kreuzer’s workshop which had to end up in a black & white booklet. In collaboration with Andrus Aavik. We researched color red and decided to show the emotional side of red color — anger. For this we used English phrases and generated sayings where different kinds of people loose their temper. Also we tried to literally express those phrases in photos.

Indrek Sirkli poolt antud ülesandeks oli vaadata Adam Curtise dokumentaalfilmi “The Century of the Self”, selle põhjal märkmeid teha ning lõpuks valmistada sellest 16. leheküljeline booklet. Peale filmi vaatamist märkasin, et olin kogu filmi dekonstrueerinud pisikesteks tükkideks, mis kõik rääkisid erinevatest inimgruppidest. Otsustasin teha bookleti, mis kajastab erinevaid inimgruppe ning seda, kuidas neid mõjutatakse.

We had to watch the documentary “The Century of the Self” by Adam Curtis in Indrek Sirkel’s assigment. Make notes and after that a 16 page booklet. After watching the movie I noticed that I had deconstructe the movie to small parts, which talked about different focus groups. I decided to make a booklet about those focus-groups and how they are influenced by the market.

Proposal for Estonian Academy of Arts (EAA). Made during a workshop held by Urs Lehni and Lex Trüb. Collaboration with Tanel Kärp and Jenny Hasselbach. The assigment was to find a 1m2 piece of Tallinn, and research it as much as possible. Booklet disserts questions about the advertising facade of EAA. We proposed different possibilities how to use it besides renting it for advertising companies.
